How do we know how many people are experiencing homelessness in Ventura County?
Each year, the community participates in the Point-in-Time Count, a coordinated effort to better understand the scope of homelessness across our region.
This data helps guide funding, shape programs, and inform decisions at the local, state, and federal level.
It’s more than a count, it’s a tool for planning and progress.

Her journey, overcoming adversity to be named National Bilingual Teacher of the Year, is a reminder of the impact one person can have on so many lives.
This year’s featured book, "I’m Hungry, Tengo Hambre" by Angela Dominguez, highlights the importance of language, culture, and connection through reading.

For more than five decades, the Free Clinic of Simi Valley has been a lifeline for individuals and families in our community, providing compassionate and high quality care to those who need it most. It was a privilege to present them with a proclamation in recognition of their unwavering dedication and impact, and to celebrate a mile stone of 55 years of service. 🎉

Honored to share that today we achieved a unanimous vote to name the East County Crisis Stabilization Unit after former Mayor and Supervisor Bob Huber.
Bob’s legacy of service, compassion, and dedication to our community will now live on in a place focused on care, dignity, and support for those in crisis. He also gave so much of his time through pro bono work, especially supporting teens struggling with mental health, making this tribute even more meaningful.
A heartfelt thank you to Deb Holler and Todd Huber for sharing Bob`s story at today’s meeting.

I want to recognize the incredible work of SEEAG in hosting the 13th Annual Ventura County Farm Day! 🌱🚜
This year’s event featured 18 different agricultural locations across Ventura County, giving residents from all over the opportunity to visit farms, meet local growers, and learn firsthand about where our food comes from and the importance of agriculture in our region.
Best of all, this was a free, community-wide event designed to educate and inspire the next generation about the vital role farming plays in our local economy and daily lives. 🌾💚
